Late Shri Rajveer Singh Tomer
Late Shri Rajveer Singh Tomer, a visionary leader and a pillar of the sugar industry, was born on June 30, 1950, into a humble farmer's family in Lahoodda village, Baraut, District Baghpat. His unwavering commitment to excellence and his profound belief in the power of education and healthcare laid the foundation for the RS Tomer Charitable Trust.
Education and Early Career
A diligent and hardworking student from an
early age, Shri Tomer pursued higher education,
earning his M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from Meerut University in 1972 and M.Phil.
from
Himachal Pradesh University in 1973. His academic pursuits instilled in him a deep
understanding of rural communities and the challenges they face.
A Distinguished Career in the Sugar Industry
Shri Tomer's professional journey commenced in 1973 as a Research Investigator at the
Agro-Economic Research Centre for Himachal Pradesh, where he dedicated himself to
studying
and improving agricultural practices. In 1977, he embarked on a distinguished career in
the
sugar industry, joining the Cooperative Sugar Mills in Uttar Pradesh as Chief Marketing
Officer. His first posting was at Chatta Sugar Factory in Mathura, where he quickly
established himself as a skilled and respected professional.
Over the years, Shri Tomer's dedication and expertise led to numerous promotions and transfers within the sugar industry. He ultimately retired as General Manager from Najibabad Sugar Mills in 2010. Even after retirement, his passion for the industry remained unwavering, and he continued to serve as a consultant for sugar mills, playing a pivotal role in reviving the dormant Mohiuddinpur Sugar Mill in Muradnagar.
